Research interests

Processes of Power and Social Influence

The constructs power (restrictive control), influence (promotive control) and manipulation are theoretical distinguished. Empirical studies illuminate the determinants and outcomes of these social interactions in organizations and groups.

Group Research

Group research deals with both the practical questions raised within organizational psychology (e.g., group performance and forming work groups), as well as with the more theoretical questions raised within social psychology (e.g. social interaction, information processes).

Innovation and Information

The aim is to identify and theoretically explain the factors that influence the success of the innovation process. Information transfer and exchange processess (including information pathgologies), communication and cooperation, as well as decision-making processes all play a central role in the studies.

Mobility

Data from a longitudinal study concerning mobility and related topics (e.g., attitude toward technology and environment, vehicle preferences) are analyzed, our interest lying in econonomical, social and developmental psychological issues.

General Theoretical Work

The major focus of these texts are often theoretical aspects, for example the publications on social interaction and the discussion papers.
